Hi Sinan This is a simple message and very important today, rarely heard, and easily misunderstood. Of course you are not saying don't aim high. And of course there is really no way that you can measure the value that is input into an individual to understand their value output. How about the value input that comes from growing up in a country whose wealth was built on slavery and colonialism centuries ago. Success is not purely about individual effort. But the message that we could be more content with what we have and to an extent who we are is vital, especially in the face of the multi-billion self-improvement, realise-your-dreams, get-more-and-more industry. Some of the messages and various techniques of that industry can be helpful but I have a feeling that they can also increase stress and ultimately disappointment. My mother, who was a child refugee, says it simply: the world doesn't owe you anything.
